Westboro Baptist Church, seeking attention, goes after Foo Fighters

The Westboro Baptist Church, starring the lovable Phelps clan, has now thrown down the gauntlet with the sinful Foo Fighters, announcing they will picket the band's September 16 show at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. Why are the lawsuit-baiting, fundamentalist clowns riled up over the popular rock band? Could it have something to do with the recent "Hot Buns" tour-promotion video, in which the band takes a "trucker shower" to the strains of Queen's "Body Language?"

In an uplifting statement, the church had some cheery words for their fellow patriots:

"The people in this nation have sinned away their day of grace and have so enraged their God that you are seeing new outpourings of his wrath continually. We will be there to remind you that the day of your destruction is upon you, even as you vainly seek comfort in the frivolities of this life."

I think the Foos will be ready. Dave Grohl has dealt with a-holes before, and I wouldn't put him beneath a well-oiled, flash-mob Mentos bombardment. Especially in the vicinity of Shirley. Or maybe we'll see another sign war. Oh, Westboro Baptist Church. Why you so crazy?
