2011 Emmy nominations announced, Friday Night Lights finally gets a shot

Yes! My favorite award show to get inexplicably angry about (did you know Buffy was never nominated for best drama? A crime!) has announced its nominations. The 2011 Emmy Award nominations were announced this morning by Bridesmaids and Mike and Molly star Melissa McCarthy. Some things to get super excited about: Louis C.K. got a nod as Best Actor in a Comedy Series, Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton got last-chance nominations for Friday Night Lights, Martha Plimpton got recognized for her comedic chops in the underrated FOX show Raising Hope (it's good, I swear), and a first time nomination for Parks and Recreation as Best Comedy Series.

Other than that, it's the same old chestnuts. The Big Bang Theory and Modern Family dominate in every category, Hugh Laurie, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, and Alec Baldwin all have their requisite nominations. Some notable snubs: Sean Bean in Game of Thrones, Nick Offerman in Parks and Recreation, Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Before you start ugly crying about Breaking Bad being snubbed, it wasn't eligible for the 2011 awards season. So who are you rooting for? Are we missing any horrific oversights?
