30 Rock will have a New Year's Eve spoof with Emma Stone

New Year's Eve movie

In yet another sign that Tina Fey is God, it was revealed today that the new season of 30 Rock (beginning this Thursday) will feature a spoof of Garry Marshall's New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day starring Emma Stone and Andy Samberg. The movie's name? Martin Luther King Day.

Nick Cannon will also appear in this fake movie — because why not? — which will debut in the January 26th episode. The set-up for this joke is that Jenna (Jane Krakowski) has landed a role in this star-studded "holiday" movie. Little else is known, but Tina Fey did have this to say:

"I want to lay claim to that bit before anyone gets it. It's a movie that has everyone in the world in it."

Considering how many people Fey got to appear in the "We Are the World" parody "Kidney Now!," I wouldn't be surprised if we got treated to some more surprise cameos in Martin Luther King Day. (Just putting it out there, NBC: a Robert Downey Jr. cameo would basically make my life.) More importantly, I don't think I've ever been so excited for a Garry Marshall movie.

Try, if you can, to tide yourself over until then with this new young Liz Lemon compilation:

Praise Jesus (or whoever) that someone has finally addressed how bad these movies actually are. Can't wait to see Fey's take on Marshall.
