Where David Cross has had a relatively high-profile decade, starring in Arrested Development, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, and (ahem) Alvin and the Chipmunks, his Mr. Show costar Bob Odenkirk has been a little less prominent, directing some not-very-celebrated films like The Brothers Solomon and turning in a totally goddamn hilarious supporting performance as "criminal lawyer" Saul Goodman in Breaking Bad.
According to Deadline, this imbalance may soon shrink ever so slightly. Adult Swim just ordered a pilot of Regal Productions, a live-action series, starring and co-created by Odenkirk, about a video-production company specializing in "wedding videos, Internet ads, low-budget infomercials, and even feature films for 'ancillary' markets." This sounds very promising — it sets up a lot of possibilities. Also, more Odenkirk is just always welcome — he always radiates intelligence, much like Cross, but he seems to have an underlying gentleness in contrast to Cross's sometimes grating acerbity.
