Elizabeth Hurley and Adrianna Palicki in NBC's Wonder Woman.

So you already knew that in NBC's reboot of Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman will be a Carrie Bradshaw-type who "likes slumber parties" and will be played by Adrianne Palicki. But obviously the show will need more than just a lady running around, slumber-partying, which is why Elizabeth Hurley has been cast to play Veronica Cale, Wonder Woman's bisexual nemesis

Yes, bisexual. Here's her character description:

Beautiful, highly educated, highly accomplished, she runs one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country… but she's afflicted with the serious deep-seated Wonder Woman envy. Whatever she is, or will be in life… she'll never be her. And it causes her innards to rot. She loves men, but likes women. There might be an unstated chemistry between her and Wonder Woman, at least on her side.

E! is calling the move a "homoerotic twist," while more skeptical onlookers might describe it as a "ratings ploy." And still others are calling it "finally, an excuse to look at Elizabeth Hurley every week, because where's she been lately, anyway?"
