The L Word actress kicked off flight for kissing her girlfriend

Leisha Hailey, star of Showtime's lesbian-fueled drama, The L Word, was kicked off a Southwest Airlines flight for doing what she does on TV: kissing her girlfriend. According to Hailey's tweet, ""Flt. attendant said that it was a 'family' airline and kissing was not ok." Because families really hate kissing (also hand-holding and other lovey-dovey signs of affection). Southwest responded with this lame statement:

Initial reports indicate that we received several passenger complaints characterizing the behavior as excessive. Our crew, responsible for the comfort of all customers on board, approached the passengers based solely on behavior and not gender. The conversation escalated to a level that was better resolved on the ground, as opposed to in flight. We regret any circumstance where a passenger does not have a positive experience on Southwest and we are ready to work directly with the passengers involved to offer our heartfelt apologies for falling short of their expectations.

Hmm, looks like someone's trying to save face. It's especially ironic too, considering Southwest guarantees "gay-friendly" travel and is even the official airline of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD). Can't wait to hear what GLAAD has to say about the incident.
