James Franco returns to General Hospital

What supposedly started off as a performance-art experiment in stunt casting, is slowly turning into a full-time gig, as James Franco is set to return to General Hospital later this fall. The multi-hyphenate extraordinaire will reprise his role as a mysterious artist and serial killer in an episode slated to air September 20, and is said to have a long-term story arc.
Franco's made multiple cameos on the soap opera since 2009. When you make intermittent appearances on GH over the course of two years, it's probably about time to drop the whole "Look at me, I'm a performance artist" shtick and just admit and embrace your passion for daytime television. Franco's a whole lot better at soap acting than at, say, hosting the Oscars.

And Nerve returns to blogging about it...
James Franco returns to General Hospital and...no one cares.
Doing soaps is certainly invisible acting work. Acting life imitating art.
