Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake teach you the history of rap

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but these were not the people I expected to give me a run-down on the history of rap. Justin Timberlake was a guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon yesterday, to promote his movie The Social Network, when Fallon asked him to help out with some hip-hopology. (Is that a word? If not, it should be.) And then this happened:

Not to be a bitch (my God, why am I being so critical of things I enjoy today?) but I do believe they got the timeline slightly wrong. "Gold Digger" most definitely did not come after "Live Your Life." (Unles they're doing the Glee version in some sort of meta reference? I really hope that's not true.) I will say, though, that I'm pretty pleased they included "The Humpty Dance" and "Work It."

I'm not so pleased about the inclusion of "Soldier Boy Tell 'Em," easily one of the dumbest songs in years. But I'll let it slide.
