Gabrielle Giffords' horrific shooting will get the television treatment on an upcoming episode of Law and Order: LA. The show has already started production on an episode where a state senator gets shot while making a public appearance outside of a grocery store, based, of course, on Giffords' shooting this past January in Arizona.
This is pretty much the kind of classy treatment you'd expect from a show where baby crack-ring plots are the norm, but still, perhaps it's a little too soon? It's been less than three months, although she's certainly rallying, raising money for a potential Senate run.
Perhaps the most insulting part of this story is that the worst Law and Order is covering it. As a sign of respect, they should have at least figured out how to make the character a New York senator and pass this one off to Special Victims Unit. Khloe Kardashian made her acting debut on the L.A. version, for Christ's sake. Talk about adding insult to serious injury.
