Queen of nineties TV comedy Roseanne Barr is staging a comeback (her current reality show Roseanne's Nuts doesn't count, in my book), and is currently developing a new sitcom with 20th Century Fox. The series, Downwardly Mobile, would primarily be a star vehicle for Barr, and will center around a blue-collar family trying to get by in a bad economy. In other words, the exact same plot as Roseanne, with maybe a few tweaks here and there.
It may not be a huge artistic departure for Barr, but as far as I'm concerned, this is the best TV-related news since Mad Men came to Netflix streaming. Welcome back, Roseanne!
