“Sarah Palin’s Alaska” cancellation is not as good of news as it seems

After seven wolf-hunting, dumb-shit-spewing weeks on TLC, Sarah Palin's Alaska may (finally) be over. The show's producer has said he has no plans to return to wherever it is Palin is from to shoot another season of her reality series — making last night's show the series finale. Ratings, however, are not the issue: the show drew a shocking number of viewers, around 3.2 million on average. Pretty solid for something that prompted Aaron Sorkin to say, "The Learning Channel should be ashamed of itself."

While her detractors may rejoice, this isn't as good of news as it seems — the show's end, many are speculating, is a sign that Palin wants to spend more time politicking, perhaps even prepping for a 2012 Presidential bid.

Whether that's true or not, no matter how hard I pray at night or how many bags of pennies I dump into a fountain, I'm positive this isn't the last we'll see of her.
