Watch an extended cut of Michael Bay’s Victoria’s Secret holiday spot

It's the holiday season, and that can only mean one thing: a Victoria's Secret commercial directed by Michael Bay. This is his third installment, and it's a surprisingly mellow affair, after the 2009 Baytacular featuring the helicopters, fire breathing, and explosions you would expect. Last year's spot gave us a glimpse of a softer Bay, with the explosions replaced by diaphanous fabrics and white horses as the extraterrestrial beauties posed in lingerie, accompanied by an industrial/techno soundtrack.

And now, Bay subverts our expectations further, like Scott Weiland did with his Christmas album (you can see him butchering "Winter Wonderland" at L.A.'s El Rey Theatre here), with a romantic, American Beauty-esque, rose-petal-carpeted, slow-motion lark set to the strains of Johnny Hartman's "In the Wee Small Hours of the Morning."

The commercial, which I first thought was some home-movie footage of just another day at the Bay mansion, was actually shot at a seventeenth-century Baroque castle in Prague. Featured are Victoria's Secret Angels Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Doutzen Kroes, Erin Heatherton, Lais Ribeiro, Lily Aldridge, and Lindsay Ellingson, modeling the Gorgeous, Dream Angels, and Very Sexy lingerie collections. After several viewings, I remembered that there were actually some clothes for sale.
