Watch: James Franco defends his Oscar performance on Letterman

On tonight's Late Show, Franco discusses, at length, his widely panned performance as Oscar host. He doesn't do the best job of defending himself, though. When asked why people may have thought he was high, he claimed that "even the Tasmanian Devil would look stoned" compared to Anne Hathaway. Maybe, but I'm sure Taz's eyes would have been all the way open at some point during the show. He went on to also point out that he only kind of cared. I don't really take issue with that, but if you're going to defend yourself, giving a fuck would definitely help your case.

Franco has a really good point about the difference between pre/post oscar talk. He should have expected that though, as a whole, public American dialogue is naturally pretty hypocritical.
He seems like he's getting kind of douchey. I like his brother better.
James Franco will throw anyone under the bus to avoid blaming himself. What a coward ! He was completely unprofessional & disinterested at the Oscars. Anne Hathaway was doing all the work. Now, he thanks Anne by blaming her for his shameful performance at the Oscars.
