Zooey Deschanel hosted Saturday Night Live this weekend, and in case you were wondering, yes, Abby Elliott did whip out her impression of the hipster queen. She was joined by Taran Killam as Michael Cera, Kristen Wiig as Bjork, and Deschanel herself as Mary-Kate Olsen for a talk show celebrating quirk. So in case you were wondering, yes, it was awesome.
"Bein' Quirky with Zooey Deschanel" (naturally) involves lots of singing, random noises, and a retro '50s kitchen. While Elliott gets great lines such as, "Now's the part of the show where MK and I make our eyes real big while Mama Cass plays," Wiig and Killam totally steal the show with their impersonations. This reminds me: Taran Killam may be my new favorite SNL-er. Can we please give him more screentime for his killer impressions and Robyn music video recreations, NBC? Cool? Cool.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I will definitely be tuning into "Bein' Quirky" next week for that roundtable with Chloe Sevigny and an American Girl doll.
