Last night SNL shot some fish in a barrel in their cold opening by re-imagining Bill O'Reilly's pre-Super Bowl interview of President Obama as if the Lord of the No Spin Zone couldn't repress his usual officious ways. Jason Sudeikis actually does a pretty good job as O'Reilly, nailing some of his rhythms, mannerisms, and curt delivery. The only thing missing was a couple toadies coming in and massaging that insatiable ego by telling him how spectacular his interview had been.

Agreed, they really did nail it. And they don't usually. Armisen is getting more and more comfortable with his Obama. It won't be remembered like Carvey's Bush or Chevy's Ford, but it's getting to be solid.

that was supposed to be funny? i think snl was better when i was a disenfranchised teenager. then my only recourse to politics was to laugh at it. now this is just sad, and satire doesn't make it more palatable.

That skit was funny, first time I've laughed at SNL in a while. Under some sort of hopeful delusion I watched the next one Hulu directed me to, about a royal taster, and damn. That was some brutal shit. I would be embarrassed if I had to sit through a local improv group doing that, let alone the most famous skit comedy show on television.
