Watch the cast of Portlandia (and guests) perform Salt-N-Pepa’s “Push It”

Need something to get you started on this cold January morning, maybe as you realize the holidays are over and all that lies ahead of you is the interminable gray stretch of the late winter months? (Sorry if that brought any of you down. Sorry if you can't handle the truth. Unless you live somewhere warm or the southern hemisphere. You may gloat.) Well, the good folks from Portlandia — that would be Sleater-Kinney and Wild Flag's Carrie Brownstein and Saturday Night Live's Fred Armisen — are here to help, with this delightful cover of Salt-N-Pepa's 1987 hit "Push It." And they brought along some friends, indie musicians Mirah and Thao, to help:

This performance was part of the show's "Preaching To the Choir" tour before the premiere of the second season Friday on IFC. (It's not really named that, but let's call a spade a spade, shall we?) And if "Push It" didn't work and you need even more cheering up, well, you can watch tomorrow's episode right now:

Happy Thursday, everyone.
