So Mad Men's fifth season returns to the airwaves Mar. 25, thus also signaling the return of 1960s-inspired Banana Republic ads, dozens of think pieces about how terrible/secretly awesome January Jones is, and the sight of your Don Draper-wannabe boyfriend consulting mixology apps while attempting to make the perfect Manhattan. All that aside, however, the show has been off the air for a year and a half, so longtime viewers are so excited about its return that they're spending every waking hour scouring the Internet for any hints about next season, like druggies desperately Hoovering the tiles of the bathroom floor for possible leftover coke granules.
With this in mind, the first teaser promo for the fifth season offers few nummies for Mad Men fans aching for a between-season fix; the trailer doesn't give you much info, because it's basically just a montage of Don Draper being hot and awesome. However, with its promises that "lust" and "debauchery" are back (but no Chauncey, sadly), the promo succeeds in getting you super-psyched for the upcoming season, as will this little tidbit: when asked in a recent interview why Don had never slept with Joan, Jon Hamm hinted that the "Don/Joan dynamic is something that we do explore [this season]…they know one another very well and I'll leave it at that." And with that, I will now leave you to bulge your eyes, let your tongue hang out of your jaw, and pant lasciviously like a cartoon character.
