Easing the blow of losing Steve Carell, NBC's hit comedy The Office has landed Will Ferrell for a four-episode arc as an inappropriate branch manager from the home office. This will mark a return to NBC for Ferrell, where his surreal SNL repertoire served as launching pad for the silver screen. He later teased fans with his what-might-have-been "Bitch Hunter" spots on 30 Rock. Ferrell previously shared the big screen with Carell in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and Bewitched.  NBC hasn't announced an air date for the episodes, but Ferrell is reportedly committed to appearing in at least one episode after Carell's finale.

Executive producer Paul Lieberstein, who plays semi-creepy Michael Scott thorn Toby Flenderson on the show, said "We found Steve Carell when he was nothing but a movie star and we turned him into a television star. We are proud to continue 'The Office's' tradition of discovering famous talent, and we hope that once America gets a good look at Will, they'll see what we see. Tremendous raw sexuality." NBC just hit the comedy jackpot.
