Google celebrates Freddie Mercury's birthday with whimsical animation

Today would have been Freddie Mercury's sixty-fifth birthday, and in his honor, Google pays tribute to the Queen frontman with appropriate flamboyance. Today, the Google homepage features a music video, complete with colorful animation and of course, a classic, catchy pop tune, "Don't Stop Me Now." At just over a minute-and-a-half seconds long, the animation took the Google Doodle team nearly three months to create, and it's totally worthy of Mercury's theatrics. Watch as the unitard-clad singer rides tigers and rocketships into the stratosphere of rock awesomeness. He is the champion, indeed.

THAT IS AWESOME!! yay Freddie, baby! So much love for him <3
I am in love with this!
Brilliance. There can never be another Freddie, truly unique.
I would address my journal entries every night as a kid to Freddie; he was just so bright and full of life, and had a voice that was spectacular, practically perfect. To see this creation done so creatively, awesomely and with such attention to detail and vivacity that Freddie represented, even in his passing, is a wonderful sight indeed. Thank you google. You are the champion.
