Watch: Jared Leto plays Kurt Cobain

Mind you, no one actually asked him to do this, but on the seventeenth anniversary of Kurt Cobain's death, Jared Leto decided to honor his memory by releasing a video of himself in character as the late Nirvana frontman. From Leto's blog:

I heard today was the day Kurt passed away 17 years ago. Can't believe it's been that long...This made me recall a short piece of film I shot when I heard they were making a film celebrating his life. I made it to explore the character and explore creative possibilities. I never sent it to the studio or to anyone but thought I'd share it now…

Personally I smell a biopic (at the very least a made-for-TV one) in the works, because who better to take on the role of Cobain than the man who brought us dreamy, troubled Jordan Catalano? It takes a brooding '90s heartthrob to know one.
