She states in an interview that she uses "photograph processing software to change colors, add textures, apply filters". Anyone have ANY idea what's she's using? Looks more like dropping in or combing templets rather than building and hand-manipulating Photoshop layers....
It's gotta be more than that. Check out her Deviant Art page. There's A LOT of "effects", like 'produced' lighting effects (glares/flares/etc)... it seems like custom tweaking existing templets that are applied on top of the photo. Don't get me wrong-- she's AWESOME-- and the composition has to be created by her... but just wishing I knew what software she is using.
She may have scanned some scratched transparencies or just random texturized things she had laying around and then overlaid them in PS, messing with the opacity and blend mode.
I like the photo of the woman with the gloves blocking her face and the one of the woman sitting on the white bed with black background.
Dave - I fully agree. I think both LTP and myself are having this conversation because we are both photographers (LTP?) and are intrigued by the craft of her work.
All the "post-techniques" would be for nothing if she did not have the natural talent for composition and subject matter; I applaud and congratulate her for that. But JMH is right-- we are fellow photographers and simply also need to acknowledge her execution in conjunction with her talent. Moreso on that, great call with the "transparencies"; even if she didn't do that, that is a great idea!
a "prodigy" - really? she has some beautiful images, no doubt, but I'd be interesting in seeing her take 24 shots, no post, and then see what she creates. anyone with ps can recreate these effects with little effort.

It looks like selective color tweaking and some desaturation in PS.

they're great photographs, but i'd hardly call that prodigal.
Craft? Prodigy? Looks more like a jeans ad. Soulless and meaningless. I'm sure she will have a fine career in advertising
Now you say something
