I do have a problem with a uniformly white, disproportionately Israeli (seriously -- two from Tel Aviv?) young people in otherwise-low-paying artistic "jobs" presented as a representative sample of Williamsburg on a random day. This is suburban New York? I took a moment to look at the photographer's Web site. She specializes in shallow, and that includes her "reportage." Apparently, Latinos and black people aren't beautiful enough -- or in this case, pasty hipster-enough -- to merit Elizabeth Lippman's attention. Unless they rap, or happen to be the one model of color on the runway, of course.
i swear on all things holy that if i ever run into r. mackswell sherman while passing though hispterburg i will give him the beat-down of his small fashion victim life. now that i know what he looks like. thanks ms. lippman. btw lippman does alot promotional work for the clan as well.
C_E is an asshole. I agree that there is a lack of ethnic diversity that the williamsburg area is known for. regardless, the pictures are great. they show real people living 'real' lives. Katherine and Amanda look fine.
