Open House
by Natasha Papadopoulou
No one takes their clothes off in my family — not in front of each other, anyway. We've always been a private bunch, changing behind closed doors, staying in separate rooms on vacation. I chalk it up to our reserved Norwegian heritage, and to living in New York, where personal space is a luxury not to be squandered.
But Greek photographer Natasha Papadopoulou and her mother make the cavalier attitude to nudity you see in warmer climates seem downright fun. In this photo series, Papadopoulou and her mother flaunt their bodies with pleasure. Gleefully, Papadopoulou waves from the window, shutters open, as if to invite us into her playful home, free of hang-ups. Ada Calhoun
