I have had the book for a while (it was published years ago). It's a thick book, full of pictures. This Nerve collection is fairly representative of the book -- mostly documentary and not very erotic.
I find it interesting that the introduction alludes to "playfullness." I agree with some of the other responders -- I'm not seeing it here. In fact, these women seem quite business-like. It might be worth noting that with the exception of the last frame, none of the women are willing to look into the camera or the photographer is unwilling to photograph their gaze.
For what it's worth, I find the first frame to be quite beautiful.
i agree with the previous comment by ak. these women dont look like theyre enjoying themselves _at all_. the collection is not erotic and, aside from the historical, visual record it provides, wasnt particularly enlightening either. i was turned off by the turned-away faces, simulated-death poses and, overall, passive feminine sexualty.
Why are there so many uptight feminists on this website?
They're making the rest of us look bad. The composition kind of sucks in some of the photos, but for the most part I think they were done pretty well.
This collection seems to have left some viewers devoid of communicative ability. Nevertheless, I suggest a comparison between the reality of this series and the last. Which is the more erotic?

Just because you do not want to wack off to it, does not mean it is not good, or erotic.
A big zero. Let's see more of last week's pics.

I think some would like to think that the women are enjoying themselves. Why don't we ask THEM?? The male gaze has had more than its fair share.
