Down Under
by Lyn Balzer & Tony Perkiins
Australia has always been toward the bottom of my list of fantasy travel destinations. Something about the cartoonish accents, the crazy birds and the swaths of desert put it well below, say, Rome. But this photo gallery by Lyn Balzer and Tony Perkins, collaborators for the past twelve years, have made me question this prejudice. The photographer duo loves the Australian landscape and the way the nude female body looks against it. In this series, they show women crawling through glorious flora, splayed on slate-gray rock and straddling ancient trees. The Australian board of tourism could learn something from them. —
