I think that Nerve should respond to the fact that a lot of readers apparently feel excluded by the photos of a book that is meant to include as many people as possible... Didn
For those who think that drugs are the solution for everything and especially those ignorant americans who think that the action of taking pictures is "art" already, I think this photographs will be appropiate. Otherwise I would dump them with the rest of the garbage left at the WTC
I'm sorry but the photography is amateurish. At best I put it up there with Madonnas book "Sex".
The photographer will be embarassed by it in a few years.
fucking yuppie nonsense. what happened to the nerve of five years ago? and what's up with that sorry-ass elmer batters homage or rip off or whatever the fuck it is? please, nerve, stop making me embarrassed to visit your site.
These luminous images reminded me of a summer spent long ago in the Catskills. I was a waiter at one of the legendary resorts there, and though my conquests were each, on average, about 80 lbs. heavier than the protagonists of "The Big Bang," the post-coital ennui we shared was no less delicious.
I have always believed in the power of photography; indeed, I studied the art under no less a teacher than Robert Capa, but in these images of libertine youth I perceive a genius that transcends the Capas, the Cartier-Bressons, the W. Eugene Smiths -- the only photographer to even remotely approach the sexy sizzling sensuality and tingling teen textuality of "The Big Bang" was Ansel Adams, about whom, it must be said, that he only violated the Mann Act on three occasions.
i thought the pics in the book were more polished, but i like these as they are a bit raw. at least you're not charging for them and they show a bit of character that isn't in the book.
This is just a re-run of last weeks photos... skinny assed 20 something white kids. Okay ... I am white , but real women have more curves, and sex and sexuality should be represented by more than just "white and 20 something" Fucking please! Women and men from 30 to 70 have a great deal to offer also ... Nerve always talks about "sexual revolution" ... where is it? This is some very lame shit to try and pass off as "sexy". As a photographer myself , I can tell you that "older" women have a self confidence and sexual awareness that puts younger women to shame ... the same goes for the men as well. Em & Lo ... I love your articles ... they are great ...try and help get some photography that reflects what you write about. SEX ... FOR EVERYONE ! I PAY for "premium" ... where is it. I'll see ya'll in Atlanta!
genre-busting? please, you wish. You did a last minute job throwing these together? It shows. There was no mystery, no chemistry, no titillation. The photographs weren't even visually stimulating (I don't mean sexually) Are you sure you're Nerve's staff photographer?
Constructive criticism: do the exact opposite of what you just did.
I agree with most of what everyone is saying. Tan lines on titties is not hot, nor is it cute or sexy. How about some photos of plus-sized pretty women both white and non? Also, with a lot of the photography that I have see from Nerve seems to be geared towards a straight audience. How about some homo bear types in the works? Photos of threesomes in cautinary situations would be even hotter. Come on guys, GET FUCKING CREATIVE OVER THERE ALREADY!!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
I couldn't help but be reminded of the Calvin Klein ads take on photography while viewing these pictures. Scruffy, white skinny models, void of passion, the only thing missing is the perfume bottle.
If this is an attempt to sell the book to a target audience, I now know, it isn't me.

less gritty than archtypal nerve gallery but i think they are pretty smoldering ... variety is good.
