This is all happening in a hotel, a dump, not a nice place, not a place for nice people, not a place for people to relax and think back on the good times, a place for people to do the things they need to do in order to forget. You can hear the cars drifting past. The TV doesn’t work. They’ve disinfected, but you can smell the other bodies that have been here. Women come here to undress, to press themselves against the hard things of the world,
