Rearview Mirror
by Siege

Blogs are an odd way to document life. Not just because tarballs of text and links are a crude way to reduce all that slams into neurons and nerve endings in twenty-four hours. But also because everything on blogs is backwards. The first thing that greets you is the most recent entry. You must crawl in reverse to reach the beginning.

Since the launch of his Nerve journal, Brooklyn-based photographer Siege has chronicled the most outlandish of erotic adventures — three-way rooftop romps with beautiful women, champagne bottles as impromptu sex toys, zipless fucks in vintage cars — all in a day's blog. Sure, a first-person account of such a life is bound to be anything but mundane. What makes this one essential? On this backwards road, we are invited inside for the ride.

Imagine your life, from beginning to now, as a blog. Now point to a handful of entries that define who you are. Not easy, is it? Choosing "best of" entries from Siege's photojournal was a similarly challenging task, but here's what we finally selected. Of course, if you really want the whole picture, you know what to do now. Begin at the end, and crawl up from behind. — Xeni Jardin
