Grainy black and white? Must be Art with a Capital A! Looking at the pictures made me realise that there are four groups of pictures on Nerve. Type 1 like this gallery, formal, cold, very Berlin-1920s, calculated and calculating. Looks like money is changing hands with the body fluid. Type 2 is the "lost soul" blurry, strangely framed stuff that has no apparent engagement or plot. Looks like people were Suffering For Their Art with capitals. Type 3 looks like better than average quality so-called amateur internet porn. Type 4 is best characterised by Siege - sweaty, sticky, passionate and fun. For me type 4 is the most appealling. Clearly the other three types appeal to others in the audience from the comments that you so. So the editors are bound to displease 3/4 of their audience.

The grainy black and white adds a little interest to the shoot. Some of these pictures were pretty good. Most weren't.
