Mystery Achievement

Frequent contributor George Pitts' latest set for Nerve was shot over several years, in various locations; what unifies it is the presence of Pitts' long-time collaborator/model (also visible in his Nerve gallery "Pitch Perfect"). Pitts writes, "Her receptivity, to qualities of beauty, eroticism, and imaginative play make her an ideal subject..." She's a muse not just for the photographer but for the viewer; a sense of mystery pervades these images. Who is this woman? What is she eating? Where is she going? As Pitts says, "She could probably be perceived as a punk goddess, a sexy Goth, a dark artist's model, an Italian bohemian..." But he'll say no more. And she certainly isn't talking. — Peter Smith
