The Daily Beast Explores The New Internet Sex Fads

sex_with_machines_cover

In a story for The Daily Beast, sex writer Rachel Kramer Bussel strips the covers off of a few of the latest sex trends the internet is jerking it over.

She reviews all of the following sites:

Nookist, “the Internet's first confidential online sexual history log," which compiles your own personal sexual exploits and is therefore packed with more lies than a James Frey memoir

Pleasurists, a sort-of CNET.com for sex toy reviews

Red Light District, which aims to bring Amsterdam to the Second Life community

The Grindr, an iPhone app that enables bisexual or gay hookups via GPS. Users who are looking for booty calls can post a photo and pinpoint their locations and, if someone in their immediate area is also looking for a hookup and is also good-looking, who knows what might happen?

Passion, which we've mentioned before, the app that tests your sexual prowress.

Bussel explores these five trends (plus three more), going on to indicate that many of these are very niche kinks that probably won't ever catch on in the mainstream. Then again, we said that about midget porn.

RE: the Passion app - "All you have to do is start the application, put your iPhone on the bed, in an arm band, or even in your pocket and have intercourse, it is as easy as that. Once you are finished, press the stop button and view your results." WHO TAKES THE TIME TO DO THAT?

Um, Grindr? It's a pretty sleazy name, but then again, it's a pretty sleazy product. On the one hand, I feel like technology is just making it too easy. On the other hand, I feel like this app for sure going to be downfall of a Republican senator within the next year, which makes me love.
