Video: Muppets Make Bid For Relevance With Queen Cover

muppets

Just in case you've forgotten how hard the Muppets kick ass, or if you (like me) sort of thought the Muppets were retired or something, please watch this soon-to-be-surging video of your favorite childhood cast of characters singing Queen. Double-points for Animal managing to gloss over some of the more unsavory aspects of the song. Now if we could only get Miss Piggie singing "Poker Face," or better yet, figure out what these videos were promoting (is the Muppet show back on?) we'd be in business.

As much as everyone likes to rip on big corporate Disney, I'm glad they own the Muppets now. After Jim Henson passed, no one knew what to do with them. Slowly but surely Disney is trying to remind everyone what is so fantastically hilarious about the Muppets.

I agree with Eric. From what I understand, Disney isn't promoting anything other than the idea of the Muppets and they're taking advantage of YouTube to do it as simply as possible. No need for TV specials that might fail, just have them sing something silly and awesome.

Miss Piggie singing poker face. That's going to make me quietly smile all through this interminable "last day before the turkey" wednesday.

Ma-na-ma-na, let me go! This is transcendentally excellent, thanks. (But wouldn't Miss Piggy sing "Porker Face" instead?)
