Sarah Palin's Favorite Founding Father: "..."

palin2

Fox News, look upon your special contributor and despair. I think we can all agree that when Glenn Em-Effing Beck tells Sarah Palin her non-answer is "bullshit", it is time to stop listening to her political commentary! Or commentary on anything at all! Except maybe shooting at wolves from helicopters. Scanner Brian linked to this in yesterday's While You Were Sleeping, but I think we should all take a closer look:

Ow. That was so awkward I wanted to rip off my own arm skin. Look at Beck's face around the eighteen-second mark: he may as well have written "Are you kidding me with this?" across his forehead with a Bedazzler. Shut it down, Fox News.

Shut. It. Down.

That was so awkward. That sounded like someone who forgot to study for their oral presentation of colonial history and was BSing their way through the bare minimum amount of knowledge they possessed.

I never thought I would feel bad for Glenn Beck - but dammit, it happened.

I doubt she would get credit for that answer on an elementary school exam. And yes, I mean even if the question was an opinion, like, "who is your favorite." Any teacher would clearly see that Palin has no fucking clue about the subject matter.

At least she knew something about G. Washington not wanting to be a king, and the name of his estate. Why is it necessary to go into detail about the Founders at all on a news channel? The History channel, more likely.

So awkward...

But I'd still hit it.

You can see how Palin is spouting total guff while trying, so so desperately, to think of the name of a single founding father. Why is she still not seen by anyone with half a brain as a wholly unqualified individual-not just in politics but in life? She's less qualified than the chair of a middle school student council. I'm not joking. I really do believe this.

@TwL: It's because most people are morons. They are ignorant and fearful, and are afraid that smart, competent people will screw them over (and, to be fair, they're right about that). What they don't understand is that people like the ones on Fox News are lying to them, plyaing to their fears, and screwing them over anyway. You want Exhibit A for the Average American Voter, then look no farther than "Joe the Plumber," an ignorant, bigoted man so colossally stupid that he supported McCain based on Obama's tax policy that actually would have reduced Joe's taxes. You see, if, someday, Joe made a LOT more money, then Obama's tax policy would have hurt him, so he'd forego a tax reduction now in favor of a tax reduction at some hypothetical point in the future when his business is bringing in $300k per year. Being an imbecile is a badge of honor to Joe, Palin and their ilk.

This sounds like a scene from Two and a Half Men where Jake would be totally clueless to that question in school.
