There are few things more terrifying than asking the person you love to marry you. What if they say no? You'll have to tell your parents, return the ring...not to mention the damage it does to your actual relationship. So we've never really understood why anyone would ever make their proposal as public as friggin' possible by say, doing it court side at a sporting event. First of all, everyone knows girls hate sports, d'uh. Secondly, the best case scenario is she says yes and a couple people go "awwww." Worst case is she says no, and that shit becomes a viral video in less than 24 hours. Which has definitely been the case for the guy at the New York Rangers game yesterday who proposed to his girlfriend on a JumboTron on Valentine's Day. Man, bad move. See below for the clip, but four of our other favorite all time proposal rejections at a game.

"Will you be my Blueshirt bride?" Yikes:

At least this guy gets a beer and a hug from a team mascot out of all this.

It's all for the best...abusive relationships never work out in the long run.

RUN AWAY:

Isn't quite a proposal but we can see how things will be moving down the line in a couple years. What were we just saying about abusive relationships?

These are almost alway fake proposals set up by the team's marketing department to generate some publicity and viral videos.

Further reassures me that quiet proposals are the best. I did mine at the top of a feriswheel and it worked great!

The baseball and basketball ones are clearly fake. Which means the writer is clearly a dupe.
