Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni Are Cheating On Each Other

This is so French!

Both members of France's first couple are sleeping with other people and yet somehow continuing to be the first couple. French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, admitted to an affair with right-wing cabinet member, Chantal Jouanno and Bruni is known to be shacking up with musician Benjamin Biolay. And the best part is - no one really cares. Leave it to the French to be so amoral and nihilistic as to not care who their elected officials are banging. As if personal sexual expression weren't just as important as an official's public policy-making. As if everyone didn't know that the sensible response to this sort of thing is hand-wringing, hullabaloo, forced resignations and then memoirs and weepy tell-all book tours.

In the good old US of A, this would be like finding out that President Obama is sleeping with Condoleeza Rice, while Michelle casually admits to an on-again-off-again fling with John Mayer. Except in France, no one really cares, whereas if it happened here, the world would literally explode. Or at least Glenn Beck's head.
