Drunk Blogging: The Chugging Contest

Clearly we couldn't start off without a bang. Given that Scanner Ben and I often spar with each other in the comments of our own posts, we thought it only fitting that the drunk blogging experiment begin with a race to see who can chug a beer the fastest.

We both started out strong, with Scanner Ben in the lead while I adopted a slow-and-steady approach. It seemed like he was going to take it, but then: Ben hit a snag.

I took this as my opportunity to pull ahead.

And despite his best effort, Ben couldn't reclaim the lead. It should be noted that all of this took place in the middle of our office, while other people were trying to do real things like have meetings and make phone calls. It may have been the quietest, most awkward chugging contest ever, but the important part is that I won.

[Um, I actually won. - Scanner Ben]

James Brady Ryan, fighting for the honor of his Irish ancestors in a St. Patty’s day showdown! Suck it Scanner Ben!

The photos were doctored - they prove nothing! Didn't you watch the OJ Simpson trial? I am being unfairly maligned.

Invite that nice man with the garbage can into the next one.

WTF? Why is everyone mis-spelling Paddy this year? Everywhere I look it's Patty. And if you're going ot have a beer drinking contest, do it properly. Drink pints (20oz real pints not wussy American ones) of Guinness.

Are you kidding Geebee? It's fucking St. PATRICK'S day, hence St. Patty's.

Guinness chugging contests are too easy though. The smoothness and lack of carbonation makes it easier to chug than anything else.

@ko sorry but Geebee is entirely correct. The Irish nickname for Patrick is Paddy. I'm afraid it's a losing battle though Geebee... this certainly isn't the first year everyone's been getting it wrong...

no, it's patty. paddy is for padraig, not patrick

And Padriag is Gaelic (that is, the original language of the Irish) for Patrick.

I can't believe y'all are having this argument while the gorgeousness of JBR's eyes goes unmentioned. JBR, you know I love ya -- now I want more pics on top of more posts.
