Joke Repeater: Leno Rips Himself Off This Time
By Lindsay CutlerMay 4th, 2010, 1:45 pmComments (7)Hey, so remember when we did a recap of the White House Correspondents' Dinner yesterday and we were all "Man, Leno's jokes were not good!" It turns out that many of the jokes were just rehashed from old Tonight Show monologues from March and April. And by "rehashed," we mean "repeated verbatim." No one seemed to notice -- maybe because no one would like to admit mentally cataloging Tonight Show jokes -- but Politico caught it and made an awesome play-by-play. It's like watching your uncle get drunk and repeat the same stories over and over again.

That looks pretty bad when sewn together like this, but guess what: You could make the same kind of tape with our friend Stephen Colbert. He also tried out some of the material in his show first, before giving the infamous speech in front of a unhappy president Bush. It's how it's done, people.
(Granted, Colberts jokes were actually funny and, not least, true).
Colbert basically ripped Bush a new one, an act of defiance. Leno just showed himself to be lazy and complacent, which is all he's shown of himself lately.
This is exactly why Jay Leno is a loser.
Also, he's an indian giver.
Conan is so much better.
Bottomline, Jay has just become completely unlikable. That's all there is to it at this point.
The only semi-funny bit from Leno's routine was the "Cash for Flunkers" video. The rest of it was mostly resulted in cringing rather than laughter. I went back and watched Colbert's routine which is still pretty funny and very cutting. Of the funnier moments was when Colbert said something about the audiences grandkids not knowing what glaciers are, and the camera caught someone leaning in to explain the joke to the President. Who knew CSPAN had such well-tuned comedic timing.
Comedians repeat themselves all the time. It's called a "routine." You think Conan's doing a completely different set every night on his tour? I think Leno is lame and unfunny, but the repetition of jokes in different venues is not a point against him.
this is @Dorkman Just so you know Conan is not a stand up comic, so he probably has never used the same stand up routine more then once
Now you say something
