Andy Rooney: “I Think Of Myself As A Musical Ignoramus”

His rant about pop music on 60 Minutes yesterday was less the, "Oh, hip-hop, neat" you would expect from an old-timer and closer to the, "America, you have turned your back on me" typically reserved for men who live in log cabins.

Adorable. I like how Andy Rooney bridges the generation gap with: "I don’t know who Lady Gaga is and kids today probably don’t know who Ella Fitzgerald was." I do know who Ella Fitzgerald was but Lady Gaga is better because she’s NEWER. It is the unwritten rule of modernity and the now-written rule of Getting Old And Not Mattering Anymore Scares Me. Sorry, Jazz Age! I don’t know what you are.
