New Site ‘My Ex Wife’s Wedding Dress’ Is Bitter, Amusing

Our favorite bizarre website of late is called My Ex-Wife’s Wedding Dress. It’s pretty much what you expect — guy’s wife moves out, guy doesn’t know what to do with (his anger) the wife’s abandoned wedding dress, guy starts a blog about the 101 uses he comes up with for it. (Above: a scarecrow or the world’s funniest sidecar companion?)

Among the dozens of uses already tested out by author Kevin, here are some of our favorites:

  • Shoe Polish Rag
  • Honda Element Floor Liner
  • Blanket
  • Doormat
  • Tree Tie Support
  • Dental Floss
  • Pasta Strainer
  • Bib
  • Car Wash Towel
  • Jump Rope
  • Barber Smock
  • Coffee Filter
  • Golf Towel
  • MC Hammer Pants
  • Sled
  • Kite (will be tough to fly)

Sample blog entries include this one from a few days ago, in which Kevin is seen moving on:

There were times over the last year that I felt like life dealt me a bad hand. I felt like I let my family down to a certain extent because my marriage failed and I was very worried about my kids. I would get down, really down at times, but I was always reminded of all the good things that surrounded me. I don’t have a difficult life. I was lucky to grow up with wonderful parents in a loving home with three sisters and a brother. I have been blessed with healthy children, a good job, and a lot of close friends. There were many times, particularly in the early days, when I wondered how people got through situations like mine on their own.

…My oldest sister who lives in town would join me for early morning runs and I would catch up with my out-of-town sisters on the phone during the day. They would all do anything for me and I knew that from day one and I don’t know that I can put into words how much that helped me…

I think I mentioned before my passion for soccer. I had both ACLs replaced in college so my knees need an occasional icing after games. The wedding dress makes a really nice ice pack.
