Trailer For "Somewhere," The New Sofia Coppola Film

Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning

If there was a worldwide drought of feelings and heart, I'm confident Sofia Coppola would be the person to bring us back. (Sorry, Desmond Tutu.)

Love it. Sofia Coppola knows a thing or two about famous dads, travel, and how to do the stranger-in-a-strange-land story exceptionally well. And if the trailer is any indication, it looks like she hit that buzzed, transcendent high-note that ran throughout most of Lost In Translation - a feeling and an effect that every mumblecore director wished they had the chops could pull off. It looks like a really beautiful film. And yes, that is Dakota Fanning's little sister.

So excited! Can't wait to see the scene with the pole dancing maids. That's what they were, right?

This looks great! I love movies with kick-ass dads. Perfect timing for father's day :)

That looks wonderful. This should be huge for Stephen Dorff, what an incredible role.

Man...I really love Sofia Coppola, but I can't stand these movies that ask us to sympathize with rock stars and extremely extremely wealthy people. Her father's been pumping out a lot of crap like this lately (Tetro sucked!) and its a real bummer.

Agreed. These celebs are so put upon we are supposed to engender sympathy. But she is such a damn good director it almost works.

Elle Fanning is awesome. Check her out in "The door in the floor", where she was about 4 1/2 years old and holding her own with the likes of Jeff Bridges.
