His show, that is. His show. After twenty-five years of Larry King Live he approached CNN about retiring. This is good – it was getting a little weird, a little camp. Did you see Snoop Dogg’s appearance a couple months back? There was a pre-taped segment of King riding with Snoop in hoop-d. It’s cool when Brian Williams goes on Conan and does a bunch of silly bullshit for laughs, but part of me wants King just to be himself: earnest, asking the normal guy questions, and unintentionally hilarious at times, too.
After this fall, he can sit back and let that sweet memoir money roll in. And he’ll be back periodically to for Larry King specials, of course.
