Hungarian Stripper Sets Pole Dancing Record -- For Feminism

The world's pole dancing champion has set a new record for longest time working that shaft.
Alma Pirner of Hungary spent eight straight hours vaulting that pole (at left), while a handful of other dancers stepped in to make it a full 24. This wouldn't be entirely newsworthy without this surprising revelation:
When asked why this did this, Pirner said that it was to prove that women are just as physically and mentally capable as men, and deserve to be treated equally in the workplace.
Uh huh. That or you just wanted to break a world record. Either way, congrats to you, Ms. Pirner.

Interesting perspective. But, I understand her motives. Pole dancing is actually incredibly difficult - it takes a lot of body strength. Props to her
Doesn't really prove her point because men don't really pole dance. Yeah, I'm sure some do, but not really.
paulina, I was actually going to make that same comment, but I thought that would be met with "Yes, they do!" and multiple examples. Of course, male strip clubs are few and far between...
Wow, really? There's no way she could've wanted more than just to break a world record, since strippers are just a bunch of attention whores that don't care about much else than sex, money and blow.

Uh, I think maybe you misread that. I actually agree with you -- that she just wanted to probably break a world record. Hence why I wrote "That or you just wanted to break a world record." I always question when people do things that draw attention to themselves and say that they did them for some other, general group of people. If she was doing it for charity, then obviously it was for charity. But it was set up as an event where she personally would break the record herself and for no other reason than to do it. Not that there's anything wrong with that and, as I said, "either way, congrats to you."
