In the interest of full disclosure, I have not seen the original Swedish film Let the Right One In which the American film Let Me In is based off. Yes, the 2008 film was a critical boon, an international festival favorite, and it collected every award in the world. (But it’s streaming on Netflix now, thankfully.)

How often is it that a foreign film attracts so much attention that an American remake is released two years later? (We’ll ignore Funny Games because it took more than ten years, plus the remake wasn’t very good.) Not often. But the trailer for Let Me In looks terrifying, heartwrenching and very, very promising:
