Watch the winner of the 2010 World YoYo Contest in action
By James Brady RyanAugust 16th, 2010, 11:39 amComments (10)Canadian Jensen Kimmitt took home the the title in the "Single A - One Handed String Trick" division at the 2010 World YoYo Contest over the weekend, and this video of his performance is exactly the sort of thing you'd want to watch on a Monday morning:
Confession: I have never been able to work a YoYo in even the most rudimentary way. (After years of not getting it, I gave up trying at around twelve.) I'm sure there are some interesting physics involved, but to me it always felt like a game of "drop object," which is frankly much more fun when breakable materials are involved. So if you could even get the damn thing to come back up, you were pretty impressive in my eyes.
All of this is to say that Kimmitt's accomplishment here is basically magic to me. So, congratulations on your win, Mr. Wizard! (And nice music choice, as well.)

Being a lefty, I never got the hang of yoyoes. The twist in the string gets messed up if you try to yoyo left-handed.
i wonder how many hours a day that gentleman spends yo-yo-ing and whether the string ever injures his finger, if he develops calluses, etc.
Deeply mesmerizing, incredible.
The first name of the 2010 World YoYo Contest winner would be Jensen.
? He is using 2 hands.
Très cool. I could only make a yo yo go up and down maybe twice before it all kinda died on me. This totally seems like magic!
Watching someone who is so good at something like this, I get the impression that he's probably just good at... everything he tries. Really fun to watch.
I have never seen someone get winded yo yoing - that was awesome
Does anybody know what that music is?
Yeah I also like to know wich Music is used, its just magic!
Now you say something
