Thunderant, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein of Sleater-Kinney, bring Portlandia to IFC

For the last few years, Sleater-Kinney's Carrie Brownstein and Saturday Night Live's Fred Armisen have been producing ThunderAnt, a web series that pokes fun at urban, post-college culture. Now, the SK-SNL comedy duo is taking their social satire to IFC in the form of a full-length series, Portlandia

The series will be met with high expectations, given that it'll boast: writers from The Colbert Report and Tim and Eric, guest roles from Aubrey Edwards (Parks and Recreation) and Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), and executive production from Lorne Michaels. Throw in a '60s adman, a Baltimore drug ring, and a mysterious island with a polar bear, and Portlandia just might be the summation of good television.

Needless to say, we're excited. To see why, check out some ThunderAnt hits like Feminist Bookstore, This Is Nice, and Film Club. Or, if you don't like comedy, just listen to some awesome rock 'n' roll:
