Reader Feedback on "Gutter Talk"

this was intersting to see. I remember seeing Jesse in Heart Attack, back in 81 or 82. Haven't seen him since. He looks great.

I should have known reading about Jesse on Nerve would only make me wet. I'd love to teach him how to type. I first saw Jesse in 2003 at one of Springsteen's Holiday Shows and thought he had the voice of an angel. His lyrics hit me in the heart like nothing I've ever heard before, or since. I hope great things happen to you, you totally deserve it. Thank you for all of the beautiful music you create.

Wait, what happened to Bellevue? And the bar? I saw Bellevue at the original Joey's Birthday Bash. Now that I think about it, that was the funeral for Old New York. The city I'd sought growing up in Canarsie - the one I'd move to as soon as I got out of school and become a big-time writer - is dead. Now we're living in some Baudrillardian Disney New York.
