Reader Feedback on "Music Interview: The Shins"

good interview questions. but its pretty nuts cause this cd is a break up cd. my team leader who lived in washington knows mercer's ex girlfriend in which this whole cd is about. they were childhood sweethearts, best friends (hence the friends reference) and he left her for a groupie. she was a bit younger. what a "rock star" its such a cruel yet dry reference to her. the whole cd is. its interesting though i mean who would really explain the real reason for songs at times...

no offense, but this is one of the more boring things I've read -- both about the Shins and on Nerve, which is really saying something. I know this isn't a rock jorunalism site, or really even a journalism site, but questions a little deeper than "Is Chutes a breakup record?" would be appreciated. The Shins are interesting fellows, particularly James Mercer, so I'm sure it's not a lack on their part. Do correct me if I'm wrong.
