Reader Feedback on "Film Reviews"
Okay, I saw The Hills Have Eyes over the weekend, and I couldn't disagree more with the review. Not since Scream had I walked out of a movie (after it ended, I might add) thinking to myself, "wow, now that was a horror movie that actually tested the limits." THHE was absolutely ridiculous at times, but most horror genre films are at some point. This one tested your ability to watch scenes play out due to emotional gore as well as physical. First they attach you to a characted, then they kill them in the most brutal way. And for the most part, the gore keeps mostly to the realistic, or at least does so far more than most of the genre. The fact that the director is willing to go so far with the viewer makes you truly wonder what line he will cross next. I enjoyed it thoroughly. --CMB 03/13 |
