Reader Feedback on "Punk Planet"
The music, the soundtrack, and above all the characters were amazing. "Don't tell me to shut up...you ain't earned the right.
And it really does seem to pop up from time to time today: this might be a stretch, but anyone notice something peculiarly familiar about the ending of Heroes season 1? cf. reelten.ytmnd.com --AL 03/04 |
It's about time Repo Man got the credit it deserves. All the over the hill punks still make references to the film now and again, so good on ya for the article.
Did the Stones rip off the blues or pay homage to it? --ii 03/10 |
There was a mistake before in the last two lines of dialogue, but it's fixed now. ----as 03/10 |
Great article on perhaps my favorite movie. Incredible timing, too, as I just watched the DVD a couple of weeks ago for the first time on a few years and had the same reaction. It still "worked". Now it's time to get back to by dog-eared copy of "Diauretics". That book changed my life, knowwhatimean? --pm 03/09 |
Great article, I've been a huge of the film (And the soundtrack) since I discovered it about 13 years ago.
And now for the inevitable nit-picks:
(1) I may be wrong, but I think the dialogue quotes at the end of the piece are wrong. I'm pretty sure it was duke who made the "I know a life of crime has led me to this sorry fate..." speech.
(2) I'm pretty sure the trunk full of aliens/radio-active material, was also supposed to be an allusion to the Hammer film noir flick, "Kiss Me Deadly" (in addition to commentary about the Cold War). (I'm pretty sure that's where Tarantino took the allusion from also for Pulp Fiction).
Anyway, these are really minor things, and maybe I should reserve them for a site like aintitcoolnews.com instead.
Again though, great article. --DIS 03/09 |
I think you flipped the attribution of those first two lines in your closing quotation...
Other than that rock the fuck on. I am engorged with nostalgia. --AC 03/09 |
