Reader Feedback on "Suppressed Desires"

kisses --jtg 08/25 |
where can i get an uncut copy of Salo? sounds like a riot ;) --jtg 08/25 |
Just thought you'd like to know, at least one of these films is not quite lost.
FILM FORUM (here in NYC) showed FORTY DEUCE a few years ago---probably within the last 10 years. An unusual movie (esp. the odd, stylized, lingo-laden dialogue) but worth seeing....so even if it's not on tape/DVD there must be prints out there.
I also caught THE FABULOUS STAINS on, I think, A&E, probably back in the late '80s/early '90s. It was only about 90 minutes (that's WITH commercials!) so I'm sure I saw some sort of "edited" version----wasn't that impressed, but maybe the uncut version is better. I've always wondered why it never came out, given the subsequent fame of the actors and people involved. --D.G. 03/07 |
How to get a copy of LUNA? --RJS 03/06 |
The article has piqued myinterest in seeing these movies. Is there a source for these movies in the US. I will be looking for an answer in future Nerve email issues. --JH 03/06 |
i knew grad school would be good for something...i've not only seen salo--and in 16mm--and sweet movie but written papers on them. i'm pretty sure copies of either can be bought on e-bay; my video copy of s.m. is from facets.
more sexy stuff--fassbinder's querelle, thundercrack (i forget who made it, but it's 1975), and anything by otto muehl (who is the guy who runs the excremental commune in sweet movie; if you think that's crazy, see his short films)
cheers! --rpk 03/03 |
DL Toronto is the provincial capitial of Ontario, Ottawa, Ontario is the national capital of Canada. But really, who gives a rat's ass. --BN 02/26 |

I would love to get my eyes on these films... what are the resources available to get access to them. Seems a shame that they could end up lost forever since our current social climate doesn't seem to value such works. --joey 02/24 |
"for those of you a little rusty on your Canadian geography, the Canadian province of which Toronto is the capital —"
Toronto is NOT the capital of Ontario. Ottawa is. Toronto is the largest city in Ontario. Not the capital. --DL 02/24 |
